To use copyrighted music for our film, we needed to ask permission from the companies that own it. If we couldn't get permission, we'd need to use copyright-free music instead. The piece of music we initially wanted to use was called 'Afraid' by The Neighbourhood and was owned by Sony Music and, thus, we had to email them for permission.
