ADULTHOOD

It grossed £1,203,319 at the UK Box Office during its opening weekend, ranking above The Incredible Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Sex and the City.

Adulthood is seemingly a sequel from the first film 'kidulhood' whereby Noel Clarke, starring as 'Sam' is realeased from prison after doing six years for killing his classmate 'Trevor' played by Aml Ameen.  

The opening scene portrays Sam getting out the prison and getting beaten up and being told that he will get what he deserves. It becomes evident that since Sam being in prison for six years it has dramatically changed him as a person. 

 

The genre and narrative throughout the film; the trailer starts with two of the main characters reminiscing about when they where 15  as featured in Kidulthood. Throughout the trailer there are the themes of police, drugs, sex and violence. By showing this in the trailer, it allows viewers to establish the genre before actually watching the film.
