What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Creating an audience questionnaire and then sending that out and around to varied people allowed me to gain an insight to people’s preferences as well as critical feedback onto the film. The questionnaire consisted of asking people basic questions such as ‘Gender’, ‘Age’ and even ‘Film Genre’. By knowing this information it gave me an idea onto who supposedly would be drawn to the overall aspect of the film. As well as that, by taking the basics from the audience I can focus on the specific target audience that my film can be focusing on.
Moreover, the audience feedback adhered to the improvement on aspects of the film. This was done by showing varied people the film, when it was in the midst of editing it enabled us as a group to gain a critical view against the film allowing it to become a strong piece. The feedback allowed us to learn exactly what we should edit, and how we should edit it to gain the full image of it all. Personally I agree that the audience feedback plays a critical role throughout any filming process of any skillset. Without the audience feedback no errors would be highlighted and ultimately our film would not be as strong as it is as a final cut.
Our audience feedback was not primarily taken from the feedback from the questionaries’ made but through the uploading of our film to YouTube. People, we haven’t met or even know can leave comments and aid with critical advice. This also helped the film gain a non-biased and non-judgemental approach to it, as they didn’t know the group or the people behind filming it. With this new addition into approaching audiences as well as gaining their feedback it lead to the film becoming stronger and heavily improved. As a group, we expanded our view onto our own film as well as adhering to critical views and different opinions.
